AJ2 Represent the interests of an archaeological organisation
AJ2.1 Generate external commitment to the future of the organisation
Performance Required
This will involve:
- Summarising clearly and accurately the contribution of the organisation to the community and presenting it to stakeholders
- Anticipating any likely obstacles or negative reactions to the contribution of the organisation and developing strategies for responding to them
- Identifying and implementing valid strategies for generating support for the organisation
- Eliciting support for the organisation from key people
- Involving the community in the development of the organisation
- Presenting recommendations and options for the contribution of the organisation to the community and discussing them with key people
- Identifying the support needed by others in promoting the work of the organisation and offering appropriate assistance

Generating interest
- The type of strategies and techniques that are available for generating support
- The type of recommendations and options that could be put forward by the organisation
- Who might need support in promoting the organisation, and what type of assistance could be provided
- The strategies that could be employed to gain commitment from stakeholders
